The Energy saving range of pool pumps
The Energy saving range of pool pumps is a perfect fit for new and existing pools. Generally, the pumps have 3-speed variable functions which allow the user to select the speed that they require their pool to operate at. For the maximum energy savings, the lowest speed is selected. The slower the speed the more energy savings are achieved. But on the lowest speed, there is reduced water flow not sufficient to vacuum the pool. The pump has easy operated push button speed settings when increased flowrate is needed for vacuuming the pool. On high speed, the pump is more like a traditional 1.5hp pump, with no energy savings but maximum flowrate.
Pool pumps for new and existing pools
We recommend that all new pools have installed an energy-efficient pool pump. The initial outlay of just over $2,000 is recouped in the first 12 months and ongoing savings year after year. The pictured pump is from Sta Rite but there are many available from just about every pool supplier. Selection of the best energy-efficient pool pump depends on the pool installation and the user requirements.
Finetuned pool filtration
Energy-efficient pumps use brushless, permanent magnet motors which offer high-efficiency levels compared to conventional pool pumps. Combined with the latest in electronic control, this allows the motor/pump to run at varying speeds, or factory set 1-2-3 settings.
Step technology allows you to select a duration for each speed setting and automatically switches to the next speed/step after the time is up. This allows you to fine-tune your pool filtration and circulation and get the most from your variable speed pump.
